UAE Calls for Unconditional Freedom of Navigation in Hormuz

The head of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Sultan Al Jaber, called for the unconditional and immediate restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

On X, he revealed that the world is facing a deficit of 1 billion barrels of oil due to the closure of the strait. “1 billion barrels. That is the arithmetic of extortion,” he said.

He added, “Every day the Strait is held hostage, the costs go up… for families, farms, factories and economies around the world.”

Meanwhile, the US Central Command announced that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) continues its operations in the Arabian Sea, including enforcing the US blockade against Iran.

On X, it said, “CENTCOM forces have redirected 65 commercial vessels and disabled 4.” (EIR)
