Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the Israeli attack on Beirut’s southern suburbs once again demonstrated that the United States either lacks the will or the ability to fulfill its commitments.
Posting on X Sunday, he said, “By giving the green light to the regime, you cannot gain concessions. The game of bad cop and good cop is outdated.”
Ghalibaf warned the American side, saying, “If you lack the will and ability to fulfill your commitments, speaking of continuing the path is not possible.”
Meanwhile, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Sunday that it had targeted Hezbollah sites in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
A joint statement from the Prime Minister and Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that, based on their directives, “the IDF launched strikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut against terrorist targets belonging to the Hezbollah organization, in response to the group’s firing toward Israeli territory.”
At least three people were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut on Sunday, according to the Lebanese Civil Defense, while Israel said it had targeted Hezbollah positions. (EIR/AFP)
