California Mayor Resigns After Spying for China

US media reported Tuesday that a mayor of a Californian city resigned after being accused of spying for China.

According to federal prosecutors, Eileen Wang, the mayor of Arcadia city of Los Angeles County, pleaded guilty in a case and could face up to 10 years in prison.

Prosecutors said she secretly worked to promote pro-Beijing messages and positions within the United States. (EIR)
