Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday that “every rational and diplomatic avenue should be used to reduce tensions with the United States,” while emphasizing that vigilance and distrust in dealings with Washington are “undeniable necessities,” according to Iranian state media.

The two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States is set to expire on Wednesday as US representatives are expected to arrive in Islamabad for negotiations. Meanwhile, Tehran has yet to say whether it will send a delegation to Pakistan.

Pezeshkian also called for reforms, stressing the importance of informing the public about the country’s current situation and future challenges.

“Although some of the problems have been managed through prudence and coordination, continuing on this path without reforms and precise management could place greater pressure on the people,” he said. (EIR)
