Multiple people were shot Saturday at Brown University in the northeastern United States, the Ivy League school said, with the perpetrator still at large and students ordered to shelter in place.

Brown University reported multiple exams scheduled in the building at that time. Law enforcement and first responders swarmed the scene, with local news station WPRI reporting clothing and blood on the sidewalk.

The shooting is the latest in a long line of school attacks in the US, where attempts to restrict easy access to firearms face political deadlock.

President Donald Trump said on his Truth Social platform he had been briefed on the shooting. “The FBI is on the scene,” he said. “God bless the victims and the families of the victims!” (AFP)
