Iranian media outlets said Tehran has so far used only half of its oil storage capacity, in response to US claims that Iran has only 13 days of oil production capacity left.

Tasnim News Agency, citing the latest data and satellite imagery of Iranian storage tanks, reported that approximately half of Iran’s storage capacity has been utilized so far.

However, the report said the figure includes only floating-roof storage tanks, while fixed-roof tanks cannot be measured and are not recorded in satellite data.

It added that satellite imagery currently shows around 17 oil tankers near Kharg Island, with estimates indicating that the storage capacity of these tankers alone ranges between 5 and 8 million barrels. The report also referred to numerous unofficial tankers cooperating with Iran by changing their flags.

A member of Iran’s parliament’s energy committee told the news agency, “Iran’s oil cycle is capable of withstanding the threats of US President Donald Trump,” adding, “At the height of the naval blockade, oil exports not only continued but increased.” (EIR)
