Iran and Israel announced the end of military operations following Iranian strikes on Israel last night in response to Israeli operations in Lebanon.
The Khatam al-Anbiya Command of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed on X that any continuation of hostilities and transgressions, particularly in southern Lebanon, will be met with measures far more severe and destructive than those previously taken.
Meanwhile, a senior Israeli official stated that Tel Aviv decided to cease its strikes on Iran following a direct request from US President Donald Trump during a phone call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Channel 12 quoted the official as saying, “This round of escalation with Iran is over,” while noting that Israel would continue its strikes in Lebanon against Hezbollah targets.
The confrontations between Iran and Israel resumed after Tehran targeted Tel Aviv in retaliation for the alleged targeting of the southern suburbs of Beirut, marking a new phase in the escalating conflict. This came on the 100th day of the Middle East war amid growing hopes for an imminent agreement.
The Iranian armed forces vowed to respond “with even greater force” to any new aggression against the country, following the exchange of fire with Israel for the first time since the ceasefire agreement in April.
The spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, the central operations room of the Iranian armed forces, said in a video statement, “The criminal United States and the Zionist regime must understand that a strong Iran, along with the resistance forces… will stand firm under any circumstances and in the face of any threat, and will never submit to the enemies defeated in war.”
He added, “If the aggression and hostilities continue, they will be met with even greater force.” (AFP/EIR)
