Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy chief, said that national sovereignty is not a commodity to be traded, emphasizing that neither the threat of tariffs is a solution.

She stated, “We have no interest to pick a fight, but we will hold our ground. Europe has a slate of tools to protect its interests.”

US President Donald Trump has escalated his pressure to acquire Greenland, threatening to impose additional tariffs on eight European countries that oppose his designs on the Arctic Island, prompting Berlin and Paris to prepare countermeasures. (Agencies)
