Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said on Wednesday that Cairo has a “clear plan for security arrangements and governance in the Gaza Strip after the war ends.” Abdelatty clarified, “Egypt is training hundreds of Palestinians to take over security responsibilities in Gaza.”
Concerning efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, Abdelatty said that “Egypt is exerting intense diplomatic pressure to ensure the success of the ceasefire negotiations,” assuring that “Cairo maintains daily communications with U.S. and Qatar.” Accusing Israel of using food as a weapon, the Egyptian Foreign Minister described the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as “catastrophic and unimaginable.” (Agencies)
