The Iranian Foreign Ministry said that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will travel to Beijing on Tuesday for talks as negotiations with the United States to end the conflict in the Middle East stalls.
In a brief statement carried by Iranian media, the ministry said that “during the visit, he will meet with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, to discuss bilateral relations, regional and international developments.”
Araghchi’s visit comes ahead of US President Donald Trump‘s planned trip to Beijing on May 14 and 15 to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump’s visit to Beijing was initially scheduled for March 31 to April 2, but was postponed due to the war with Iran. (EIR)
