Israeli forces shelled the vicinity of the village of Taranja in the northern Quneitra countryside in southern Syria on Sunday.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said that Israeli forces fired four artillery shells targeting agricultural lands near the village of Taranja, but did not cause any injury or material damage.
The agency also reported that Israeli forces with three military vehicles and a bulldozer entered the villages Mariya and al-Aridah in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa countryside on Sunday morning.
They established a military checkpoint inside al-Aridah village and dropped leaflets in the areas, warning residents against blocking roads or obstructing their vehicles. No reports of clashes or arrests were reported.
Israel continues to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through its incursions into southern Syria, attacks on civilians through raids and arrests, land razing, and artillery shelling.
Syria continues to demand the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from its territory, asserting that all measures taken by Israel are null and void and have no legal effect under international law. (EIR)
