Egypt’s Intelligence Chief Hassan Rashad met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Tuesday to discuss US President Donald Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan, according to a statement from Netanyahu’s office.

The statement said, “Netanyahu and his professional team met with the head of Egyptian intelligence in the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem.”

It added, “Among the topics discussed were advancing US President Trump’s framework, Israel-Egypt relations and strengthening the peace between the two countries,” and other regional matters.

The statement refers to the Trump-backed Gaza Peace plan, which included the first phase of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, mediated by the US and Egypt.
