Germany Says 'Stable France' Important for Europe After PM Quits

Germany said on Monday that a “stable France” is an “important contribution to stability in Europe,” following the resignation of France’s new prime minister after less than a month in office. Government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius, however, insisted that “there is no reason to doubt that France is stable”, after Sebastien Lercornu’s abrupt resignation deepened the country’s political crisis.
