The Thai military has accused Cambodia of violating a ceasefire that came into force at midnight on Monday, 28 July. The truce was aimed at halting the ongoing border clashes, which had lasted six days between the neighbors and resulted in the deaths of 38 people and the displacement of around 300,000. The clashes initially broke out following the explosion of a landmine in a disputed border area on July 23, 2025, which injured five Thai soldiers and triggered the crisis between the two countries.
