Transnistria

Transnistria is an unrecognized breakaway state located between the Dniester River and the Ukrainian border, with Tiraspol as its capital. The territory, which broke away from Moldova in 1990, has a population estimated to be between 367,000 and over 475,000, and it functions as a self-proclaimed presidential republic.
