Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that $6 billion of the $12 billion in frozen assets in Qatar will be released and transferred to Tehran, Iranian media reported Monday.

The Iranian Fars News Agency quoted Pezeshkian as saying, “In the war, despite the assassination of top Iranian leadership, including Ali Khamenei, the government firmly stood together to protect the country and did not allow the enemies to achieve their goals.”

Pezeshkian added, “The United States and Israel mobilized all their resources to destabilize the country, imagining that Iran would collapse under economic pressure and internal disruption, but Iranians thwarted these calculations through their presence and support for the homeland.”

He continued, “The recent agreement is considered a major victory for the Iranian people, and within its framework, oil and petrochemical sanctions have been lifted. At the same time as pursuing the reconstruction process, the government has also placed support programs for people’s livelihoods on its agenda, and increasing the voucher credit is one of these measures.”

He stressed that Iran is not seeking to develop nuclear weapons and that the Islamic Republic remains committed to this position, stating, “We assure the international community that these activities will be conducted in accordance with the country’s needs and within the announced framework.”

Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Monday denied reports that Iranian and American technical teams will meet in the coming days to discuss implementation of the deal to end the Middle East war.

“No technical meetings of the working groups are planned for this week,” Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said, quoted by state TV, referring to the Iranian week ending on Friday. (EIR/AFP)
