Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Thursday denounced what he called the United States’ “irrational” and “domineering” approach in dealing with Tehran.
“The problem is the type of approach of America, and that is their irrational, excessive and domineering approach, which has been met with strong reactions from us,” he told the state TV.
Meanwhile, Trump said that the United States would hold Iran responsible for any new Houthi attacks against shipping, after the group announced it had targeted two Saudi vessels in the Red Sea. He described the Yemeni group as “a surrogate and/or proxy of Iran.”
Trump added in a Truth Social post, that the Houthis had acted “very responsibly” recently, but expressed his disappointment over their return to escalation, warning that repeated attacks would lead to “major military retaliation” against Iran and the Houthis.
In a related development, Kuwait announced that its Al-Abdali border crossing with Iraq was attacked by drones, resulting in material damage but no injuries. A Kuwaiti official accused Iran of being behind the attack, while an Iraqi security source confirmed the incident. (AFP/EIR)
