The White House said that the United States will not deploy military forces on the ground in Ukraine. White House Spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in a press conference that the United States could help coordinate and possibly provide other security guarantees to its European allies.

She added, “Regarding security guarantees, President Donald Trump has stated unequivocally that we will not have troops in Ukraine, but we can certainly help coordinate and possibly provide other security guarantees to our European allies.” She noted that Trump, recognizing the importance of security guarantees to achieving lasting peace in Ukraine, has tasked his national security team to coordinate with European allies.
