President Donald Trump reiterated a message he had posted earlier on social media, that “help is on its way” for the Iranian protesters.

Announcing the cancellation of all meetings with Iranian officials until the “killing of protesters” stopped, he called on Iranians to keep protesting and seize control of state institutions, and urged them to “make Iran great again.”

When asked by reporters about his statement regarding aid being sent to Iran, Trump replied, “You’ll find out.”

“The killing looks like it’s significant, but we don’t know yet for certain. I’ll know — and we’ll act accordingly,” he said.

He added that the United States would react strongly if authorities in Iran started hanging people in their crackdown against the government.

“We will take very strong action if they do such a thing,” he said when asked about hangings potentially beginning on Wednesday.  (AFP)
