The Syrian Foreign Ministry announced the completion of the handover of all sites previously used by US military to the Syrian government. This comes as a result of the successful integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into national structures, according to the ministry.

In a statement, the ministry said, “The end of the US military presence reflects the changed circumstances that necessitated its presence,” adding that “the handover of the US sites was carried out with full coordination and high professionalism between the Syrian and American governments.”

The ministry said the state assumed full responsibilities in combating terrorism and confronting threats, and that Syria is capable of leading counterterrorism efforts in cooperation with the international community. (Agencies)
