The Kremlin on Thursday brushed off the impact of the United States not extending a waiver on Russia’s seaborne oil exports, put in place last month to help ease global energy markets amid the war in the Middle East.

“This could have been expected,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded to AFP’s question during a daily briefing.

“For years now, we have been living under the burden of sanctions… we have already learned to act in such a way to minimize the impact,” he added. (AFP)
