Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba today stated that he “will not easily concede” in trade talks with Washington as Tokyo seeks to avoid US tariffs of up to 35% on Japanese goods.
Speaking on a talk show, Ishiba said, “We will not make concessions easily. That’s why it’s taking time and why it’s also difficult.”
His remarks come as Japan rushes to negotiate with US President Donald Trump’s administration ahead of Wednesday’s final deadline to reach trade agreements.
