Israeli President Isaac Herzog today called for the “urgent release” of hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, following the United States airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Posting on the social media platform X, Herzog wrote: “This brave step serves the security and safety of the entire free world. I hope it will lead to a better future for the Middle East and help advance the urgent release of our hostages held in captivity in Gaza.”

Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced today that it had recovered the remains of three hostages held in captivity in Gaza since the October 7 attack.
