The Israeli military announced that its Air Force, directed by the Military Intelligence Directorate, has begun a wide wave of airstrikes against targets belonging to the Iranian terror regime in the heart of Tehran.

The military on its Telegram channel said that during the last twenty-four hours, the Air Force has carried out intensive attacks to achieve air superiority and open the way toward Tehran.

Meanwhile, several explosions were heard in the Iranian capital, an AFP journalist said, amid US and Israeli strikes on Iran.

The blasts were heard in northern Tehran and smoke was seen emanating from a building, the journalist said. It was not immediately clear what the target was.

Earlier, the Israeli military announced that its air force carried out a large-scale offensive operation targeting approximately 500 targets inside Iranian territory.

According to a statement issued by the Israeli military, it is the largest air raid in the Israeli Air Forces’ history, involving approximately 200 fighter jets operating in full coordination and simultaneously in several areas in western and central Iran.
