Israel is escalating its attacks today, Wednesday, targeting Syrian army headquarters in Damascus as well as government forces and their positions in Sweida province, southern Syria. This comes a day after US media reported that US President Donald Trump had urged Israel to stop its strikes against the Syrian army in southern Syria.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said today that Israeli military would continue its attacks on Syrian regime forces until they withdraw from Sweida.
“As we have made clear and warned, Israel will not abandon the Druze in Syria and will enforce the demilitarization policy we have decided on,” Katz said in a statement. Meanwhile, Syrian Ministry of Defense stated that local militia groups had resumed their assaults on the government forces in Sweida.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the death toll from recent clashes in the Druze heartland has risen to 248.
