Iran attacked vital facilities in the Arab Gulf states amid the US-Israeli war against it.

Emirati air defenses were responding to missile and drone attacks from Iran, the United Arab Emirates Defense Ministry said Sunday.

Authorities in Abu Dhabi said they were battling fires at a petrochemical facility on Sunday caused by falling debris. “Authorities are responding to multiple fires in Borouge petrochemicals plant, caused by falling debris following successful interceptions by air defense systems,” Abu Dhabi Media Office said.

Likewise, an Iranian drone attack on Sunday sparked a fire at Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company.

Two Kuwaiti power and water desalination plants were damaged by a drone attack from Iran, Kuwait’s Electricity and Water Ministry said Sunday. The attack resulted in “significant material damage and the shutdown of two electricity generating units”, the ministry said in a post on X, adding there were no deaths or injuries.

Iranian media had reported that the Iranian army announced it had targeted “aluminum factories” in the UAE and US military infrastructure in Kuwait. (AFP)
