The German government announced on Friday that it is temporarily suspending export of any equipment or weapons that could be used in the Gaza Strip, following a decision by Israel’s security cabinet to launch a more intensive military operation in the enclave. In an official statement, Berlin raised concerns over the escalation, reaffirming Israel’s right to self-defense but underscoring that the release of hostages, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas remain its top priorities. The government urged Israel to allow comprehensive humanitarian access to Gaza and to refrain from annexing the West Bank.
