Xi: China, Brazil Can Set Example of Unity

Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that his country and Brazil could set an example of unity among countries in the Global South. Xi spoke by phone with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Tuesday, according to a statement issued by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the call, Xi said China is ready to work with Brazil to seize opportunities, strengthen coordination, and deliver more mutually beneficial cooperation outcomes, setting an example of uniting for strength among major Global South countries.

Briefing Xi on Brazil’s current relationship with the United States and its principled stance on firmly safeguarding its sovereignty, President Lula da Silva said his country attaches great importance to its relations with China and looks forward to strengthening cooperation, deepening strategic alignment, and promoting greater development of bilateral relations.
