France’s 2026 Finance Bill

France’s Finance Bill for 2026 provides for the adoption of a 2% tax on the financial assets of holding companies. The explanatory memorandum to this text states that this tax “aims to thwart tax avoidance strategies involving the hoarding of undistributed income in these companies, which thus escapes taxation”.
