Lithuania Mulls Acquiring Long-Range Ukrainian Weapons

Lithuania is considering acquiring Ukrainian-made long-range drones and cruise missiles to bolster its defense capabilities, the country’s army chief said on Sunday.

In an interview, General Raimundas Vaiksnoras said that having capabilities “that belong to us and that we control ourselves” is a priority, possibly through joint production with Ukraine or by adopting Ukrainian technology. He added that Ukraine has proven expertise, having already developed several long-range systems.

He noted that some systems Lithuania already owns or plans to purchase include so-called “kill switches” that can interrupt or disrupt GPS connections, highlighting restrictions on Western-made weapons systems — including limitations on striking targets in certain areas. (AFP)
