The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that it had destroyed an American E-3 AWACS reconnaissance aircraft in a joint missile and drone operation targeting a US base in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia.
In a statement carried by the Tasnim news agency, the IRGC said, “In the strike that was carried out in response to hostile actions by the US terrorist military, IRGC operation resulted in the destruction of an E-3 aircraft used for airborne surveillance, command, and control.”
Other aircraft in the vicinity also sustained significant damage, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Iranian Navy Commander Shahram Irani stated that the American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln would be targeted once it comes within range of the Islamic Republic’s artillery.
