US President Donald Trump said that Iran gave him a “very big present” that was “oil and gas-related”, boosting his confidence that he was talking to the right people in Tehran to end the war.

The US military, meanwhile, is planning to send some 3,000 soldiers from the elite 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East to support operations against Iran.

According to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Iran has offered “non-hostile vessels” passage through the Strait of Hormuz if they meet safety and security regulations in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Several US media outlets also reported that the United States had sent the 15-point plan to Iran through Pakistan, which maintains good relations with both sides.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iran had informed it that “another projectile hit the premises” of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, without causing damage to the plant itself.

French President Emmanuel Macron called on Israel to prevent further escalation of the conflict in Lebanon and to seize the opportunity for direct discussions between the two countries. (AFP)
