A Pakistani security official said that his country will stand with Saudi Arabia under the defense agreement signed by the two sides should the conflict escalate.
The official added that despite showing flexibility regarding the talks, Iran is still insisting on preconditions.
In this context, two Pakistani sources familiar with the US-Iran talks said that “contacts with Iran are ongoing, and efforts are underway to bring the two sides to the negotiating table.”
They added that “Iranian missile strikes on Saudi targets threaten to derail the negotiations.” (Reuters)
