Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on Tuesday that the deployment of military infrastructure from third countries in Afghanistan is unacceptable.

During a meeting with his Afghan counterpart, Amir Khan Muttaqi, Lavrov said, “We reaffirm the categorical unacceptability of the deployment of military infrastructure of third countries on the territory of Afghanistan, as well as on the territory of neighboring states, under any pretext.”

He added, “We discussed the possibility of developing relations between Russia and Afghanistan and the challenges facing the countries in the region within the framework of the Moscow Format, to help create conditions for our shared prosperity.” (Agencies)
