Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan: Efforts to End the War Nearing a "Critical Stage"
Share:

Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam said that Pakistan’s efforts to end the war in the Middle East are nearing a critical stage.

On X, he said, “Pakistan’s positive and productive endeavors in Good Will and Good Office to stop the war is approaching a critical, sensitive stage …,” without providing further details.

This message comes hours before the deadline set by US President Donald Trump, who threatened to destroy Iranian infrastructure if an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is not reached.

Iran has rejected a 45-day ceasefire proposal and reiterated its desire for a permanent end to the war.

Trump said he is “not at all concerned” about potential war crimes and renewed his threat to destroy Iranian infrastructure if Tehran does not meet Tuesday’s 8:00 PM EST deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, Iranian state television reported that 14 million people have volunteered to fight in defense of the country in the event of a US-Israeli ground invasion.

Oil prices continued to rise as the deadline set by Trump to reopen the Strait of Hormuz approached.

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung dispatched his chief of staff as a special envoy to Kazakhstan, Oman, and Saudi Arabia in a diplomatic effort to secure more fuel and alleviate the energy crisis stemming from the conflict in the Middle East. (Agencies)
