A senior Iranian source has threatened to close the Bab el-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea if the US and Israeli attacks spiral out of control.

Saying that Pakistan continues to convey messages, the source added that the U.S. has not changed its tone and that Iran would not surrender under pressure.

“Fexibility will be shown when we see flexibility from the U.S. side. What the U.S. wants is the reopening of Hormuz Strait, Iran will not open it in exchange for ’empty promises'”, the source added.

Clarifying that Qatar conveyed Iran’s message about striking power plants to the U.S. on Monday, the source warned if the U.S. attacks Iran’s power plants, the entire region, including Saudi Arabia, will fall into complete darkness. Reuters
