US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that an agreement with Iran means that Tehran will never have a nuclear weapon.

He said, “We achieved a historic victory over Iran,” adding, “In cooperation with Israel, the armed forces achieved all of their stated objectives in Iran.”

He continued, “All Iranian naval vessels are now at the bottom of the sea, and we have completely destroyed the Iranian air force.”

He added, “Iran is no longer capable of manufacturing missiles, launchers, or drones.” He stressed that US President Donald Trump chose mercy, and the new Iranian regime understood the importance of the deal.

For his part, US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, said, “The ceasefire with Iran is a pause, and we will remain ready to resume our operations.”

He added, “We destroyed more than 2,000 command and control centers in Iran, struck more than 13,000 targets in Iran, destroyed more than 90% of the Iranian conventional navy, and 90% of Iran’s weapons factories.” (Agencies)
