US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that a second airman downed inside Iran was “safe and sound” following a search and rescue operation. He warned that the Islamic Republic had 48 hours to cut a deal or face “all Hell”.
The Republican president wrote on Truth Social that he directed the US military to send “dozens of aircraft, armed with the most lethal weapons in the World, to retrieve” the airman, adding, “This is the first time in military memory that two U.S. Pilots have been rescued, separately, deep in Enemy Territory.”
He also announced that “many” of Iran’s military leaders were killed in a huge strike on the Islamic republic’s capital.
Meanwhile, Iran’s central military command rejected US President Donald Trump’s threat to destroy the country’s vital infrastructure if it does not accept a peace deal within 48 hours.
