Venezuela Foreign Minister Meets New US Chief of Mission

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil on Saturday met with the new head of the US diplomatic mission to the South American country, his office said, less than a month after the capture of leader Nicolas Maduro by US special forces.

The meeting between Gil and US diplomat Laura Dogu is part of an effort by Caracas to “define a roadmap on questions of bilateral interest” and address existing differences via diplomacy, the foreign ministry said in a statement. (AFP)
