Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that US President Donald Trump’s remarks regarding US nuclear submarines in response to the Burevestnik missile tests were his own and ‘are important’.
“Russia is consistently working to ensure its own security, and the development of new weapons is part of this effort,” he told reporters.
“There is nothing here that could or should further strain relations between Moscow and Washington, especially since they are already at a minimum,” the spokesperson pointed out.
He emphasized that ensuring Russia’s security is a matter of vital importance, especially given the military mood in Europe. (Agencies)
