US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of violating the ceasefire between the two countries multiple times. On his Truth Social platform Tuesday, he said, “Iran has Violated the Cease Fire numerous times!”
His recent outrage against Iran comes as a US delegation led by Vice President JD Vance, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner is on its way to Islamabad, Pakistan, in hopes of holding negotiations with Iran to end the war. However, Iran said no member of its delegation has left Tehran for Islamabad to meet with the US side.
Leading up to Tuesday, Iran accused the US of violating the truce after Trump pressed to keep blockading Iranian ports, and Trump on Monday moved the deadline of the ongoing ceasefire to Wednesday evening, Washington time.
After the first round of talks, Iran agreed to open the Strait of Hormuz in return for the US lifting its blockade of Iranian ports.
The second round of talks has been in limbo since the US refused to lift the blockade of Iranian ports and Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz again. (EIR)
