Attacks attributed to jihadists targeted several military facilities in Mali, including an army camp in the city of Kayes, according to the military and local residents.
The assaults come at a time when the country is already witnessing a surge in attacks. Issuing a statement, the Malian army said that seven of its sites were targeted in “coordinated attacks carried out early this morning,” while residents and a local politician confirmed attacks in at least four towns.
