Putin Seeks New Measures to Boost Economic Growth

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday asked the government to propose additional measures aimed at stimulating the slowing economic growth.

“I look forward to proposals for additional measures aimed at reviving the growth of the domestic economy, supporting business initiatives, and improving the structure of employment in favor of sectors with more productive jobs that generate high value added,” Putin said at a meeting with key officials responsible for economic growth.

Expressing worry over the declining Russian economy, he sought the government explanation over Russian economic data coming out below forecasts. Reuters
