Pezeshkian: U.S. Maximalist Positions Prevented Deal in Islamabad

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian told France’s President Emmanuel Macron that the U.S. lack of goodwill and maximalist positions prevented finalization of an agreement in Islamabad.

Urging Europe to play a constructive role in encouraging the U.S. to adhere to international law, the Iranian president told Macron, “Threats, pressure and military action will only exacerbate U.S.’ ‘self-made problems’ in the region.”
