Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Wednesday that Ukraine has officially notified Israel, through diplomatic and legal channels, of its request to “take action against the ‘PANORMITIS’ vessel.”
In a post on X, he said, “The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has submitted a relevant request to the Israeli authorities based on a Ukrainian court ruling to arrest the vessel as part of the ongoing investigation.”
He added that Kyiv suspected the vessel of illegally carrying a grain cargo from a closed port located in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine in violation of international law and Ukrainian legislation.
He expressed hope that Israel would take the matter seriously, instead of responding with what he called “emotional statements”. (EIR)
