Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa said that Israel must withdraw from any points it seized after December 8, adding, “Syria has not provoked Israel since we arrived in Damascus.”
In an interview with CBS, he said, “Syria does not want to engage in wars and does not want to pose a threat to Israel or any other party.”
He added, “Syria is committed to prosecuting anyone who committed crimes against civilians, regardless of party or group.”
He stressed that elections will be held once the infrastructure is rebuilt and residents have obtained their appropriate IDs and official documents. (Agencies)
