Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei denied what he called “media claims” regarding the Iranian plan, emphasizing that his country’s most recent proposal focuses exclusively on ending the war.
In a televised briefing covered by the Fars News Agency, Baghaei responded to “claims,” that the plan included a 15-year suspension of uranium enrichment, saying, “What I can say is that our plan focuses exclusively on ending the war and does not include any nuclear details whatsoever.”
Baghaei added, “The American side has responded to our plan and conveyed its response to the Pakistani mediator. That response is under review, and after assessment, the Iranian response will be formulated.”
He underscored, “We are currently focusing on the information related to ending the war in the region, including in Lebanon. As for the other issues being raised, some of them relate to the records of previous negotiations we conducted regarding the nuclear file, specifically in the two previous rounds of negotiations that preceded the war by the Zionist regime and the United States.”
He stressed that the Iranian plan, consisting of 14 points, focuses on ending the war, and not what the foreign media is reporting. He termed information published by foreign media as “incorrect”. (EIR)
