India on Wednesday urged its citizens in Iran to leave the country, citing the evolving situation in the country, according to an advisory issued by the Indian Embassy in Tehran.
The Islamic Republic has been caught in domestic unrest for over two weeks.
The Indian Mission in Tehran, through the advisory, asked all Indian nationals to “leave by all available means, including commercial flights.”
The embassy cautioned its citizens to avoid areas of protest or demonstrations, and urged them to monitor local media for any developments.
The mission requested Indian nationals in the country to have their travel and immigration documents readily available with them.
