The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) today said that increased radiation levels have not been recorded following US strikes on Iran’s key nuclear facilities. The agency also summoned an emergency meeting for tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Iran has requested an official investigation into the US strikes on its nuclear enrichment facilities, urging international condemnation of the US action and calling for appropriate measures to be taken, according to Iran’s SNN news agency.
Similarly, Saudi Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) also declared that it had not detected any radioactive impact on the environment in the Kingdom or in neighboring Gulf states.
Likewise, Iranian authorities following the strikes confirmed that radioactive contamination was not reported from any of the sites. The National Centre for the Nuclear Safety System, under the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said in a statement: “No signs of contamination have been recorded; therefore, there is no danger to residents living near the targeted sites.”
